Terms & Conditions
1. Insurance Terms
-
The accident penalty, which consists of 20% of the repair expenses and the excess insurance coverage amount, must be paid by the hirer in the event of an accident. Until the car is completely fixed, the hirer must keep paying the daily rental price.
-
Even if the hirer is not at fault and the second party is present, they are still responsible for the daily rental cost until the car is fixed. In the event of a 'TOTAL LOSS,' which occurs when the vehicle is damaged beyond the point of economical repair, the hirer agrees to pay Drive Around Rent a Car 20% of the car's total insured value in addition to the accident penalty (excess insurance coverage amount).
- The hirer must be at least 25 years old and have had a valid driver's license for at least a year.
- The hirer is entirely responsible for any repair costs and damages if their driving record is less than a year old or under 25.
- The car can only be used in the United Arab Emirates, and the insurance is only good there. Insurance does not cover any mishaps or losses outside the United Arab Emirates.
- If the hirer causes an accident while impaired by alcohol or any other drug, they will be responsible for paying total compensation for all losses and damages. Authorities will also ultimately hold the hirer accountable.
- When the car is not in use, the hirer is responsible for ensuring it is safely parked. The hirer bears full responsibility for any damages resulting from natural disasters, as insurance does not cover such situations.
- If damages occur without a police record, the hirer will be held entirely liable in front of the authorities and must pay for the repairs.
2. Fines and Salik Terms
- The hirer shall pay all parking and traffic fines accrued during the rental period.
- Drive Around Rent a Car may request a deposit to cover any fines, and one year after the rental period ends, the hirer may be obliged to pay any unpaid fines.
- The Hirer consents to pay AED 5 for each electronic toll gate passage through the "SALIK" system.
3. Conditions
- If there is an accident, the hirer cannot move the car until the police have finished inspecting it. If the hirer doesn't immediately give the rental office the required paperwork, they will be solely responsible for the occurrence.
- The hirer bears the full responsibility for the car. If downtime is due to accidents, technical issues, or carelessness, the hirer is accountable for paying for the repairs and daily rental costs. The hirer must notify the rental office immediately in case of an accident or mechanical problem. Without permission from the rental agency, the hirer isn't allowed to repair the car.
- As per the accompanying check-out list, the hirer is responsible for ensuring the car is returned in good condition. This includes maintaining the water and oil levels. The hirer's proactive role in this regard is crucial. A cleaning fee will be charged if the car is returned dirty. For planned maintenance services, the hirer is required to bring the vehicle back to the office.
- It is forbidden for the hirer to drive the car off-road, take part in races or contests, drive in a deserted region, or do any other activities that could endanger the vehicle. Should these activities result in any harm, the hirer shall be liable.
- Throughout the rental period, the hirer is in complete control and is responsible for any legal requirements or penalties related to the vehicle. Similarly, if the hirer transports forbidden objects within the United Arab Emirates, they will be held entirely responsible. The contract payment remains in effect until a settlement between the hirer and Drive Around Rent a Car is reached. Cash and other valuables left in the car during or after the rental term are not Drive Around Rent a Car's responsibility.
- The hirer may drive up to 250 kilometers each day. Further kilometers will result in additional fees depending on the vehicle's model.
- Twenty-four hours is considered a rental day. If there is an over-hour delay, there will be an additional day. If the hirer is late returning the car every day, Drive Around Rent a Car will reimburse AED 25. The corporation will pay 2% of the entire amount daily if the credit exceeds AED 5,000.
4. Additional Liabilities
The following extra fees are the hirer's responsibility:
- Fees for car towing services.
- Value decline for the car, whether or not it is fixed.
- Any expenses, such as court and legal fees, that Drive Around Rent a Car bears because of the vehicle's loss or damage.
5. No Insurance Coverage in the Following Circumstances
These circumstances are not covered by insurance:
- Leasing the car.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances.
- An unlicensed driver is operating the car.
- Natural disaster-related damages.
- Off-roading, racing, or traveling across arid regions.
- Traveling outside the United Arab Emirates.
6. Recovery and Return
Drive Around Rent a Car retains the right to retrieve the car using its key from any location in the United Arab Emirates without prior notice to the hirer.
7. Hours and Delivery Terms
The following times are allocated for vehicle deliveries:
- 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, except Thursdays, when the final delivery occurs at 7:00 PM.
- Public holidays and Fridays: Only scheduled returns of the vehicles are accepted, and the hirer will be billed in full for Friday rentals.
8. Driver and Passport Requirements
- It is strictly prohibited to sublease the hired car. Any individual not listed as a driver on the rental agreement is not authorized to operate the vehicle. Violating these terms may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement, a measure we take very seriously.
- The Hirer consents to leave their original passport with the rental firm until the end of the rental period. The passport will be returned if the car is returned safely and there are no unpaid bills or damages.
9. Rental Distance
During monthly leases, the hirer is permitted to drive up to 4,000 kilometers. As per the agreement, any extra kilometers will be charged.
By agreeing to these terms, the hirer accepts full responsibility for adhering to all conditions outlined in this document.
